Type Nepali offline on Mac.
Build the Mac app
A public installer isn’t available yet. Install Apple’s Xcode command-line tools, clone the GitHub repository, and follow its README to build and run NepType. You can also use the free browser typing pad without installing the app.
Quick start from Terminal
After installing the command-line tools, run these commands. The script builds the native typing pad locally.
git clone https://github.com/anuphunt/nep-type.git
cd nep-type
bash scripts/run.sh
Write in Nepali
Type namaste in the Roman input field to get नमस्ते. Use Nepali + EN to keep recognized English words, or choose All Nepali.
Use your text
Choose a spelling from the suggestions, then copy the output into your app. The pad works offline. Copy text before quitting; documents are not saved between launches.
Typing pad or system keyboard?
The standalone Mac pad uses copy and paste. The separate system input source is experimental; use the repository’s instructions if you want to test it.
